I may be missing something, but I've read arca sim racing is built using rfactor's engine and is similar. So I am thinking, spend $40 for rfactor and get all the mods, or $50 for arca and you get just the arca tracks/cars?
Or is the $50 really to pay for being in an official arca league? Maybe looking at it the wrong way. |

Arca is not running the "old" rfactor engine but has undergone some serious updates! And i keep saying: 50 dollars for a game that you play daily/weekly for a lot of hours is always worth the money!
A dinner with friends cost me more ![]() Big welcome to RPM by the way! |

I agree if I play it that much it's worth it, I just am not sure if I will yet. Sounds pretty good if I do play it that much.
Actually what would get me for any sim is something american based. I have lfs and had rfactor and euro players on both more than anything so finding a nice big field wasn't usual for my playing times. That's one appeal for iracing if it comes out had has what the old nascar ten had, full servers and ranked skill levels. So if arca has a strong us base and lots of racers online, that will actually do it for me! |

I watched some videos of Arca Simracing, even league races which they ran in beta which had Dale Jr. and Truex Jr.. The racing and the game looked fantastic. Heard nothing but good things from real race car drivers including Dale Jr. on his interview after that league race. I also bought Rfactor for stock car racing, I have to say I wasnt real happy with it. Other mods for Rfactor are fun, its fun to mess around with but for serious stock car racing I'd look elsewhere.

Do you think you can put some setup info/tutorial here for us (that can bring us a bit up to speed on what most teams uses to make a better car setup)? Because I normally use this setup tutorial: http://www.racelinecentral.com/RacingSetupGuide.html But reading what you are saying makes me think that there is a big possibility that this setup tutorial might be a bit outdated for the new cars/chassis.

That´s a good question if it will be worth it. For people that have their doubts on "build on ISI technology" products, then I suggest to those: Wait until the product is released which will be in 3 days from now and wait a few weeks until there is some user feedback available.
I personally pre-ordered because I´m looking for a complete change. I´ve followed all the broadcasts, most discussions here and there, was excited about the Dale Earnhardt Jr. interview with the SRT guys a few weeks ago (ARCA Sim Racing Milwaukee Broadcast it was) and so i´m just curious about this one now. We all cannot say if it will be worth it or not since noone has this product yet except beta testers maybe that posted some feedback here and there in the past. From all the written feedback I do think there is much truth in it and to gain sponsorships with most everything in the ARCA RE/MAX series, I do believe it was really really hard for The Sim Factory to bring us something worth it. It will be good and may reunite the oval simracing community again. I tend to believe it and next week or so there will be the proof of truth if everything is so like everyone said! |

The game will be well worth it. If you watch the preview races that they have held. Which were brodcast in low quality to make it available to the masses it was awsome. This game will be the first game in the Circle track racing community worth buying since Nascar Racing Season 2003 from papyrus. EA ruined the pc racing scene by buying the rights for the NASCAR name and finally somone found a way around it and made an awsome looking sim.

I'm really excited to get my hands on ASR. I pre ordered it several weeks ago, and I'm egerly waiting for it to ship. From what a few of my buddies said, who were certified ASR testers, this is the sim that'll blow all others out of the water. Of course NR2003 was GREAT and still is but just has lost its realistic touch. Much props go out to the guys working on NASCAR mods for rFactor, they're workin very hard, but with ASR coming out its sure to be a crowd pleaser for the sim racers alike out there.

Setups on these cars is goin to be based off the real cars .. if this is true they are using big bar soft spring setups .. or coil binding setups .. kind of the same thing.. As for tire temps.. the tire on the real arca cars like to be around 200 deg for max grip.. I have a bunch of setup books i will scan them into my pc and rar them in a folder and post them here for everyone to read.. places to start look are places like this one: http://www.circletrack.com/techartic...hes/index.html
http://www.stockcarracing.com/tipstricks/index.html http://www.pitstopusa.com/Categories.aspx?ID=3362 all i can say is read.. read and read some more.. i will try to get those pages from my books up soon |
