Default Friendly Development Oval Series begins!

Hi everyone,

I thought before we all get to much rested, it´s time to roar the V8 engines a little and therefore i´ve created a schedule where we want to offer you all a serious racing enviroment if you like oval racing of course.

Starting in April 2008 the following Race Schedule takes place:

Practise 18:00 GMT // Qualifying 18:30 GMT // Warmup 18:45 GMT // Race: 19:00 GMT
Practise 20:00 CEST // Qualifying 20:30 CEST // Warmup 20:45 CEST // Race: 21:00 CEST
April 15th - Daytona // 40 Laps
May 6th - Iowa Speedway // 125 Laps
May 27th - The Milwaukee Mile // 100 Laps
June 10th - USA Intl Speedway // 125 Laps
June 24th - Salem // 100 Laps
July 8th - Kansas Speedway // 50 Laps
July 22th - Nashville // 57 Laps
July 29th - Talladega // 50 Laps
August 12th - Duquoin Dirt Track // 50 Laps
August 19th - Pocono Raceway Park // 40 Laps
All Races will have a 50% mileage of the original ARCA RE/MAX Race Length. Yellow Flags will be on and Lucky Dog will be in use! I suggest that everyone that is really interested in this, should practise his pitstops and how they work because many problems occur when trying to make a pitstop. Remember always the pitroad speeds, else you get a penalty. It is also important that you obey to all commands the game will tell you in the chatbox, where you belong to under line up conditions etc.

If you still have suggestions, you may post them here if you like. Please be prepared for these events and practise a little to ge suited to each track. I wish you all lots of fun

As if you have to ask...

I'll be there as often as possible. Dates have been added to my diary... Hmmm.. How do I go about swapping my late shifts at work???

Sounds good, i'd suggest putting in a couple of TBD events in some of the bigger gaps between races as they'll be quite a few tracks released between now and August.

I´m very happy to see so much interest with Oval Racing in general. I am also looking forward to these events, since this will be the first real closed events, where the game has to proof its stability and all other things, that must work in a League based enviroment. See yall then

Fuel Usage x2 or not?

Hi all,

as we´re getting closer to the first Oval Race event, I want to know the following:

As we are running 50% mileage (see the laps in the first post), there will be no pitstops at all but to have pitstops to make the event a bit more interesting for all of us, I want to use x2 Fuel Usage. The Tire Wear stays normal though. Please tell me, if that is okay for you or not. Otherwise we stay as we are and run under normal conditions.

Thank you

most of the field would pit anyways under a yellow for the final 10 laps where the newer tires count;)

Just noticed this thread after asking for a chance to race with you in another thread.
Stupid me, oh the joy of getting older! ;)

Great, count me in for as many events as possible if my work schedule (and wife ) allows!

The race format and rules are looking good for me!

I'd rather run under normal conditions. The differences in setups and the way people drive their cars will probably make pit-stops necessary anyway.

I can see cautions aplenty...

Every day that passes is a day lost of practice, Hopefully I will be ready to race in these events.

Okay then. We keep it as it is. We will run under normal conditions regarding fuel and tire wear. Remember that we are since saturday night under DST (Daylight Saving Time) again which means we are now in GMT+2 so i´ve updated the times in the first post.
