This additional spotter for ARCA was made for rFactor but as ARCA is based on the same game engine it works perfect in ARCA also.
Installation ------------------------ Download the carolmakers spotter for rF from here: rFactor Central // rFactor Addons // Spotter Plugin 2.02 Also grab the 2.02 patch from the same page. Run the installer and point it to your ARCA game directory, please note it will be currently pointing at an rF directory but dont worry, It will work here. Once the installer starts up it will start downloading files from the net for installation. Once complete it will install PilFius which is the voice recognition software, Once that has installed you will be presented with a win-zip self extractor for sapi.exe, Extract the files to a folder on your desktop then run the setup.exe. Once that has done go back to the 2.02 patch for carlomakers spotter plugin, extract all folders in the patch to your ARCA game directory. The plugin in now installed! If you require the online and offline name packs, download them from this thread at RSC Driver Name Packs for Carlomaker Spotter 2 - RaceSimCentral Forums and extract to contents to c:/program files/ARCA remax/gamedata/sounds/pit/English Spotter Soundpack by F1Dave/drivers folder. Once they are installed you can run the config exe that can be found in the spotter addon folder in your ARCA game directory. Make sure you have the correct soundpack active and nascar mode enabled. As you may see in the config screen there are plenty of variables you can change and as of yet I have not tested out the voice recognition stuff as that requires some setting up, I dont think ill use that function much tho as im always on TS. Save and exit. Start up ARCA and make sure you turn off the spotter from ingame as you dont need 2 guys shouting at you ![]() Go racing and sit back and enjoy the new sounds, I find them far better than the original and more informative. Enjoy!

So far iґm pretty impressed of this Spotter Addon. Though its not an original redneck american spotter dude talking but the atmosphere is definately there. The only thing that bugs me are the Driver names. They arenґt working because the Recognition stuff doesnґt work for me. But I do like the NASCAR style reaction: Stay low, stay low, stay high etc. blabla
What annoys me is the Spotter that tells me every three seconds if iґm faster or slower in a sector. Grrrr. |

The drivers names only work on certain calls like split difference if you ask your crew chief, who has got pole in Q and small things like that, So unfortunatly it will never say "Gareth Hickling is going high"
I think I may have a look into calling the crew chief tonight via the headset to see how it works. I do find this spotter far more atmospheric that the old one.

why not ask a mate to go to spectator and to be a spotter for you. :jumping:
that would be cool ![]() Ye I did this spotter the second day I got the game, I used it for the races. Good job Gareth, bringing this too more people ;) |

yes, the spotter plugin is the only reason i use rfactor lol so its great to see that it works on Arca. Voice recognition works most of the time if you have a seperate mic + headphones (so it doesnt pick up sound from the speakers lol). also DO THE SPEECH TRAINING, i know its a bore but it really improves the accuracy.
its quite nice cos he compares the times quite well and if your running last he'll berate you for driving slow lol

I saw on rFactor Central a new updated verison 2.17
Has anyone tried this yet with Arca. I have been using this great addon since the day I received Arca. (without the voice recognition). Works great except every once and awhile it will trigger a pitstop request that I did not ask for. I can live with that. Doug |
