I was dumbfounded as to why Steam was jerking me around when I tried to purchase this... It kept telling me that my only option was to send it as a gift rather that keep it for myself. Then I had a look and noticed that for whatever reason, I was getting it for free as well!!! What a freebie it is! I'm loving the pug 308 and the tracks are tops too! The STCC rules have been a blast to play and discover what is supposed to happen and when (Received a dq for not replacing a tyre during a mandatory pitstop, I just did a stop'n'go instead). Great stuff, thanks simbin!

Lol Cam, I did the same thing, kept trying to buy it, until I found it sitting there waiting for me to complete the download.
I'm not used to getting freebies these days.
It's a nice addon to the game, some nice new cars, and I really like these tight little tracks with their bumps and hills.

Funnily enough, it was you, Warren, who would've received it as a gift! My one and only Steam friend!

Oh, free? I read somewhere it was free if you pre-ordered GTRe? I didn't notice any steam downloads (and I bought the GTRe expansion). Do you have to do something special to start the update?

I might consider getting it, even if it's just for the extra tracks. GTRe left me underwhelmed, I have to say... the cars feel funny and slippery to me... so I'm not majorly enthused to get STCC.

Wally if you love the WTCC cars, then you'll be happy with STCC. It is basically more cars and tracks for the touring cars, with some nice racing rules (pitstop strategies) included.

To check if you received the freebie (but I think it was only for those who pre-ordered EVO thru Steam), open Steam, go into the My Games page, and see if you have STCC sitting there waiting for the download to be resumed.

I think EVO will become better with some practice driving these cars, it adds a lot of variety but is very different.

Wally, I feel the same about Evo to be honest... Just haven't gotten into it at all. STCC is brilliant though and worth it for the tracks alone!! I'm even keen to go through a full offline season just for the heck of it.

Yeah, the tracks are great little rollercoasters. They'd be pretty chaotic online, I think. The volvo C30 and the Audi A4 feel good, too.

I have it - i wouldn't have bought it but got it for free - but now that i have it - i would buy it. Its sensationsational for the cars available and the tracks are good test tracks. Love the BMS.

Got it (freeby because I pre-purchased EVO), and the new tracks seem really good. I thinks it's worth the $29 for the tracks but will need to drive more to confidently say I like the SCTT cars

Probably won't get it. Sounds bizarre but I read somewhere that you can only have GTR Evo or STCC, but everything else I've seen implies that's not true. Can someone tell me the truth please?

You can have Evo & STCC, once the STCC expansion is installed everything is available through Evo

Someone is spreading wrong info then. Of course you can have both. They both use the same Race 07 game base, and both are basically addons that can run together. I have the Steam version and all run happily together, in fact STCC was an automatic update for my EVO.
If you already have EVO, I recommend just getting the STCC update from Steam, much cheaper that way, only $25 I think.

Thanks for clearing that up for me, it did seem stupid. I don't have Evo, will get it sometime though.
