first of all, thanks to you guys for pulling off a terrific league, especially with RSC going down for the last 2 races, excellent job.
i bought GTR2 just b4 xmas and was addicted straight away. i then read about the bmw league on RSC and decided to sign up as i thought i was at a decent level. after the first race at barca, i couldnt believe the pace of the pole setters, and realised how slow i was!! i was pleased that i qualified in the top 10 in G2 on keyboard tho, but the will to buy a wheel had set in. zhuhai arrived, and after a weekend of practicing i decided to buy the DFP (much to the wifes amusement). it arrived on tuesday, but i didnt have chance to use it before pre qual ended. i hooked it up for the race tho but had to retire half way through from suspension trouble. got my FFB settings sorted for Oscherleben(?) and really enjoyed this circuit (2nd only to spa). overall i learnt many things in my debut season. its all well and good being able to do 1 quick lap in qualyfying, but keeping your car on the road for 90 mins under race conditions is one of the hardest things ive done! i deffo need more experience doing this, and will be racing AI every night to improve my consistency. recommendations for next season??....possibly making a wired connection mandatory? i was racing wireless for the first 3 races and was unaware of my lagging problem till someone mentioned it in a race report. it wasnt really a problem to me (however synchronizing game through eau rouge might end in tears) but i realised it wasnt fair to other drivers, so found the phone line extension (much to the wifes amusement) and enjoyed lag free racing from then on. its been a pleasure racing with you all, ive enjoyed it 100%. congrats to Marco who was a different class from start to finish. my goal was to achieve a single championship point, which was achieved with a P19 at Hockenheim. hope to see you all very soon, i dont wanna be waiting long for the next season plz chaps! and who knows, hopefully i'll be presented as a new RPM driver at some glitzy ceremony in Amsterdam before it commences... happy days! Great season....even though didn't have much time to participate enough.
pre-quali is always great, also 90 min endurance (maybe next time for last race only make it 120 min? )Directors are always clear on what they want. Like Ramon said, single class league races are sometimes better then mixed class (except for NGT class ). This made that I enjoyed a lot with the battles that went on the track.Don't really need to change anything, maybe only let participants be more aware of their connection issues, or even give warnings.

May I just add as long as you have a decent wireless network then you WONT experience lag and restricted it to a lan cable would be a silly idea.
I have been online gaming on wireless for 3 years now without lag issues. Cheers, Oliver |

I guess the only option left is to just discover if someone is lagging all the time and asking him to leave or something like that. Or we all have to decide that we cannot do anything about it and deal with it.
We can't indeed just make rules for pings, wireless, etc. Thanks for the feedback!

hi oliver,
dont wanna go off subject, but is there anything i can do to improve my wireless network? i ping my router on wireless and its anything betwenn 2ms - 5ms with an occasional (every minute or 2) spike of between 1000ms-2000ms. when wired, its a constant 0ms. is it just a bad wireless connection that i can do nothing about or are there some tweaks to iradicate(?) the spikes? feel free to pm me with any advice. cheers fillo |
