So what else can it be? Hood or there's no limit on this. I think that every event should have a mandatory cockpit view. If we talk about simracing, this is what it should be.

I'm using only cockpit view(I like it), and look-to-apex at 20 %

It's Simracing, yes, but still a game.

Should every event be only open to people with clutch pedals? Or Force feedback? Or with steering wheels?

With internet connections above a certain speed/ping?

With Pc able to run above a certain level of detail?

Real mirrors instead of virtual?

Forcing cockpit only because it's more realistic is a specious argument, imo, because it's all pretend anyway.

Always used cockpit veiw with as few HUD as possible. Steering wheel is visable. Real mirrors. Look to apex at 25% but I also use the paddles on my G25 to look even more to the sides. (Maybe TrackIR would suite me ).

cockpit for me. i dont use look to apex i just glance at monitors 2 and 3 ;)

i use real mirrors. tho there a bit flaky when it comes to distance so i do have a sneaky backwards look button just to make sure.

EDIT: Could a mod alter the poll question? I spelt 'is' wrong.
To answer them all,
- Nose view (exept for open wheelers --> cockpit)
- Don't use "look to apex"
- Visible steering wheel on (off seems not right ;))
- Cockpit movement 40%
- FOV 80% (I'm using three screens)

Prefer cockpit view and hud off, just use the motec panel of car.
Look to Apex off, no visible steering wheel, cockpit movement 0% and FOV 80%.
As i don't have triple monitors or a good wide one is more secure virtual mirrors.

I used to use bonnet and was scared of cockpit as I couldn't see the other side of the car. More or less about the time i started driving (15 in NZ) and figuring that cockpit is more realistic. It's all I use now with 7% look to apex, just as I would move my head. I have tried using bonnet again a few times just to see what it was like and I can't stand it. I have no idea which way the wheels are pointing and generally end up spinning or hitting something!

Cockpit all the way, I know a couple of guys who use to drive on the hood or T-cam and after driving in cockpit and getting used to it they really like it, for me it is the only way to drive, I have tried other views but just cant get on with them.

I always try and drive cockpit as I think this is the way a sim should always be played.

Regarding GTR Evo, I prefer the cockpit view for added realism with a 8% trun to apex. I don't have a visible hud or wheel (My wheel is in front of me anyway )

Not sure about cockpit movement or FOV, I might check those out if they are in the game.

I was interested in Track IR but Isn't it a bit weird moving your head to oneside to look out of a window while still having your eyes looking forward at the screen? I suppose 3 monitors is the real "realism" answer...

I'm using cockpit view with look-to-apex at 50%.....looking at getting a track IR in the near future.

i cant drive with cockpit, its just not my type at all, i struggle to get the car into the corner properly sometimes, i either use swingman, or the bonnet.

I usually drive with the hood-view, because I think it gives me a better perception of speed and also makes it easier for me to have fair fights with other drivers.
Although latley I have been drawn to the cockpit view as it feels better and better every time I use it...I guess it could have something to do with the fact that I recently got my drivers license, and so cockpit view feels more natural.
Now when I drive the hood view, I feel like I'm to far forward to really "feel" the cars weight properly. The only drawback with the cockpit view for me is that it seems to put more pressure on my PC...so when I race online, I still use the hood view unless there are very few drivers on the server.

Try disabling the visible wheel option in the game settings for driving in cockpit view ... should reduce some stress on your pc

I've been thinking about doing that for some time, but I didn't think about that it might help getting more FPS. Thanks! I'll try it on later today!

I use 'hood' view mostly, because it is easier to go into the apex for me. When i want to feel a more "race" experience i will into 'cockpit' view and have fun

'Look-into-apex' i tried out once, it wasn't that difficult, but it is something to get used to.
