Maybe it could be a good idea to go progressively in difficulty, changing car category and tracks.

There is a very simple cheat that gives you all cars, tracks etc. You can get it from No Grip here:

It only involves creating a new profile, so you can still retain your original one if you want to keep progressing your career.
But the cheat is well worth it to allow you to try out some of the more powerful cars.

You need to register at forum.racesimcentral.com and apply to the Racing Club to have the password etc
