A Guide please to adding Custom Skins to the game

Hi all at RD,

I have just received the game this weekend and stumbled across this site looking for set ups.. Could someone please explain(or post a link for me) how to put some of these excellent skins into the game.

One condition. Please make the instructions as basic as possible in the style of a step by step.

Yes sure no problems -

The Guide:

1. Download the skin of your choice.
2. Navigate your way to the CustomSkins folder (?:/ProgramFiles/Steam/SteamApps/"YourName"/Race07/CustomSkins
3. Extract or drop the contents of the compressed file here.
4. Pat oneself on the back youve just add your first CustomSkin
5. Close all open windows and Start up Race07 / GTR Evolution
6. Navigate to and event or Race and slect the car Class the custom skin was made for (e.g WTCC 07, Seat Leon)
7. Scroll through the drivers till you find the Custom one and hit "Next"
8. Drive your newly Customised car and have fun


*Notes

If you find any errors or see things are not showing as they should navigate back to your "CustomSkins" Folder and you may find and "error.log" this can be opened with notepad and will list any errors that may be in need of correction

Thanks Jarrod, but how come when I look into the folder it doesn't have the custom skins folder

Are you sure? If you have gone through your system to where "Race 07" was installed it should be there.

Hi, was wondering the same here.
I d/l the BMW Extreme Redbull 2008 from Sandis Roginskis car skin.

I extracted rar files, copy and pasted the folder into the CustomSkins folder
as you can see in this picture that I've included.


There is an error posted, I've opened up to show what is the error.

I've included a window on the BMWX Config Settings also.

I'm just not sure if the Error the reason I do not see this car in the game or I just don't know what class it belongs to.

I just picked up this game maybe 2 weeks ago and very addicted to it now.

I was hoping to capture some great races with this skin and show a movie.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Well from your screen shots I see your using the offline version and not the online version, and Im pritty sure theres still a scripting error in the offline version for the extreme models.
You could try a differant model and skin and see if you get the same errors but I dont think you will.

wierd, his other skin packs works, even the Redbull BMW but not the Extreme version

really weird, so I installed the STEAM version, and now his car works...shame.
Is there added benefits installing in STEAM?
Seems to have more option, like d/l someones car config too.
