Default Clarificaton on skins for online/offline

Can you just clarify a few things for me please

As I understand it if I put skins in the custom skins in the steam folders I can see them when I play the Steam version of the game. Do the other online players see that skin or just me?

If I want to see the skin in the offline version i.e dvd rom then do I have to add them to the custom skins in the Simbin folder, is that correct?

Are there anywhere else they need to go?

Others online will need to download the skins and install them. i.e. If I use a custom Chev skin, others will see me as the stock blue chev unless they also have the same skin installed...

if you have done the Offline install as well as the Online (Steam) install, yes you will need to install the skin twice.

Gunthar, thanks for the reply and clearing that up for me. I have noticed when looking at the race club forums some people have skins next to there names for upcoming events, I am therefore assuming that they would like participants to download the skin so the other members will see the custom skin instead of the default one.

Yes you are quite correct, When a member adds a link to there skin its so that they can see there skin instead of the standard design. This adds varity and also color to the field, and if people decide to produce videos it adds to the overall feel from all angles.

In your experience then Jarrod, do people tend to stick to the same skins or is it a case of downloading them all whenever they post next to their name in race confirmations and adding them to the online folder?

Most tend to use the same skin especially if they have there own. But that said some do swap and change depending on if they have a new design or they are trying out a new car.

The rule of thumb I go by is I see if a member is using the same skin or a new one if its the later I clear out his / her old from from my CustomSkins folder.
