@ Bram

I know its still relatively slow, but recorded my first sub 6:40 lap tonight (all driving aids off) ... which was nice

Was on a server tonight and watched a guy doing 6:2X's ... but from the twitchy way he was steering, and the way the car was handling, I am fairly certain he had all/most of the driving aids on and was using a joypad or keys.

Nothing against this if that's how you want to do it, as it part of the rules in the competition but ... I am too much of a purist at heart, and just can't seem bring myself to use any driving aids, even though I know I may save myself a chunk of time.

I just want to know that I did it though, and that I was not helped by "the electronics" of the car ...
Am curious as to what other people do and think on this one (as long as this is not considered "off topic"?) ...

Very ontopic : this question has been asked to us several times this season. My only answer: if you think the guy in front is faster with driving aids then you: use them too!

But i am almost certain that the topclass drivers won't use them at all or maybe a little ABS on the brakes. Compare the toptimes at V-WTCC with Marko Hartikainen's time at the RD 24/7 hotlap server (without aids). Probably Marko drove his lap with one alien hand because his Lister Storm (GTP) time is almost faster and the Chevy X should be quicker

Yeah i just came from the server where the guy in front was setting a new fastest time and he's definitly using the driver aids.
My only question though: doesn't this give sort of a distorted picture?
I mean i'm driving without assists, and i think i'm doing rather nicely (for a noob), but i think i can never beat the guys upfront.
So is this where die-hard simracing goes out the window and shouldn't we have a seperated competition? One with driving aids available and one without....
Maybe for the next V-....

Grts Marcel

Thnx for sharing that setup, maybe now i can go a little faster.
As you know i'm currently dangling a bit on the 20th place.
I need a more secure Top 20 place....
Hope this works.

Default Final Brand Cup Showdown

As seen on V-WTCC - The Virtual World Championship :

Quote:

On Sunday the 7th of September Anderstorp was the scene for the final Brand Cup Races of the season.

This time the competition was closer than ever. No one got their points for free and no one could take their Semi-Final invitation for granted.
As usual in all four Brand Cup Races the top four scores a ticket to the Semi-Final.

In this edition the top seven of each group had been fighting for it intensely and thus we can say that we’ve got sixteen seriously good racers coming over to the fifth and final Semi-Final of the season, held at Mantorp Park, Sweden.

Let’s start with the BMW Cup. Markus Kononen, former BMW Semi-Finalist from Finland, took the pole and brought the car home in first position during the race one. Short behind him was Swedish VGP winner Roland Ehnstrom, Patiently waiting for mistake from Markus, but to no avail. Ehnstrom had managed to overtake Dutch driver Vincent Staal, who entered the BWM Cup for the third time this season. Staal completed the podium.
These three names were no surprise, but nonetheless race two brought forth new names to meddle in their affaires. Björn Klang had the pole for the second race and managed to hold on to it throughout the entire race. He claimed ten points and thus got very close to the invitations. Behind him Germany’s Rudi Reinkort lined up, claiming second position, which, together to his fifth position in race one, took him one point over Klang’s score. Enhstrom got in third and thus secured the overall win of the BMW Cup. Kononen, who had more resistance, ended sixth, but nonetheless secured the overall second place with his race one win. Staal grabbed fourth and ended with up with the same amount of points as Klang.
Tight, but there are no ties in V-WTCC and thus race time had to decide who claimed that fourth invitation. It went to Staal, who was very quick during race one.

The Chevrolet Cup was a tight slowdown between Hungary’s two-times Semi-Finalist Tibor Cserti and Portugal’s Nuno Figueiredo who both scored 13 points. Both drivers were particularly fast in race two, which was won by Cserti, who thus became the overall winner of the Chevrolet Cup.
The actual dominating figure in that Cup was Michael Storm, who won the first race and claimed third in the second. Unfortunately for him he ran into penalty and was put back ten seconds, which cost him the podium in race two and the overall win in Chevrolet Cup. He ended third in the final standing nonetheless. The fourth driver that claimed an invitation was Norbert Rosenbaum who had fought his way up through the Demo Ranking and Race, which is quite a rare achievement in V-WTCC.

The Honda Cup became a Swedish party. Lots of Swedes had saved their efforts for the final ranking of the season say they could compete on their home ground. This showed from the Honda Cup Race where the podium was all Swedish. Andreas Dennerman grabbed the overall win with two consistent and fast races in which he claimed first and second position. No doubts there. Lars Peterson ended second.
He took the race two win and scored the third position in the first race. The third Swede on with champagne became Peter Eriksson, who claimed second position in race one, but became the victim of some race accidents in race two, which made him struggle to score any points. He ended seventh there and thus scored ten points. That same amount was scored by Tiago Rodriguez, the only non-Swede on the podium. Portugal found their man in fourth still after having checked the race times.

To conclude the matter we move on to the Spanish bulls: the SEATs. This was a close one, where seven drivers had a serious chance of claiming an invitation. Six of the seven main contenders (amongst a total of fifteen drivers) claimed a podium in one of the races and none of the drivers claimed a podium twice. The overall win went to Italian driver Andrea Melonari who took second place in race one and fourth place in race two. His fellow countryman Michele Spoldi took the win in the first race, but was stuck in seventh in the second race.

The winner of race two was Sebastien Degraeve, the Belgian that has quite some impressive Brand Cup results on his record already. He grabbed eighth place in race one and thus come to a total of eleven points, which is close behind the two Italians and just in front of Sweden’s Johannes Norberg who claimed the invitation with a sixth and second position.

Sixteen strong contenders are awaiting their final chance to reach the Monza Final. The Semi-Final where they will battle for it is held on the 27th of September on the circuit Mantorp Park in Sweden, where they will mount their simulators for two races on the virtual Anderstorp circuit.

erm, at the same time?

I would LOVE to have that addon, as I won the Race 07 in a competition too, but I know I lack the skill to score 1st. Therefore I pass on this one.
