Changing into a ghostdriver

Hi all:

My name is Thomas and I am fairly new to online race games. I started with GTR2 but like RACE better. I am having consistent problems with becoming a ghost on track. I can practice and qualify apparently OK. I start the race and it seems OK, only to find out that leaders of the race will crash against my grid spot at the end of lap 1.

My setup is a Mac - intel/core duo 2 at 2.36 Ghz and Windows XP home. Video is ATI X1600 w/256 Mb RAM. Own a logitech G25 wheel.

I don't think is the setup as GTR2 works fine. Could it be steam or the internet connection?

Any ideas will be appreciated. I extend my apologies to anyone that has crashed because of this unintentional problem.

I think he means that the race start he disappears beeing a ghostdriver.. Wasnt Area31_Bertus having the same problems...

Did you try removing the .blob files in your steamfolder Thomas?

Sorry to be off-topic. But what do the .blob files do if you can take them out?

Sorry, ill explain..

Sometimes Steam causes strange defects in RACE. Inside the steamfolder are two .blob files (one for registry and one for an account i believe). If you remove them after you closed steam and then re-open steam it will update the game automaticly and then the most problems are gone again.
But dont know if it solves this problems garcia posted. Hope so
