Hmm i was pretty confident after todays qualification for tomorrows race but i set my car up in racetrim this evening but even with meds/hard rear tyres the heat goes up and up and up. How am i going to drop those temperatures? Mainly left side of the car btw

yep just did a test on that
only way is to take that heavy foot of the gas a bit more
don't worry about that much heat going up
worry about corners T3 &T4 (right hand corners) & last 3 corners...that is where your tires will be eaten if you put your heavy foot down )

I have raced one more time for 90 min in the BMW and lots of drivers had much faster pitstops, i wondered why.

Ad as much fuel as you can, so in the first stop you only need to change tyres. With this strategy you win a lot of time in the pit. Yes the car is more heavy, but in the first 10 laps it's impossible to go flatout becasue of heavy traffic.

For Barcelona try to get your laps constantly into 1.44 / 45, this is much better for tyres, try not to push the whole race.

Damn i am in G2, i was 28 the whole day yesterday but in the last hour my time was broken, shit happens, but i can go for victory in G2 now which is better then driving 28th in G1.

I am also busy tweaking the FFB in a way the BMW can drive easy, i will post my settings tonight before the race.

To bad i need to go to the doctor for same issues Atti had last time, heartbeatings etc, i will get some heart tests today and i hope i can keep it up for 1.5 hours tonight.

Default Ferrari F550 - Spa Francorchamps

Would any of the fast folks be willing to share a Ferrari 550 Maranello Setup for Spa 2004?

I am stuck at 2:12.xx, and I cannot seem to get any more out of the car. I have tried a number of setup changes, with no or a bad effect.

Thanks,

Chris

Hi chaps, sorry for bringing up an old thread.

Im currently running a time of 1:46:2xx which is a little of the pace of the other drivers in our league.
Now heres the problem, my front left tyre is getting hot, very hot, above 110c after 2-3 laps, the rear left is also begining to get rather hot too! lol.

Im happy to post my current setup, but i will add, i have tried a number of other members setups from online and i can pretty much get those tyres red hot too!

Is it me?

Lol!

Thanks guys.

Winston

hmm
try to change your driving style Winston.
most of the times high front left tires (& rear) means that you are pushing way to much in the corners.....especially turning right.
in the M3 league i was getting almost equal tire temp at this track

Btw welcome to RD

Thanks Chris, this is using soft tyres for quaily, so im guessing the temps will be high.
As for my cornering, should i slow up more prior to the corners, then ease round them, at the mo im racing into them, slapping the brakes hard coasting round and flat out again,
my brake pressure is currently 98%.

Thanks for your help, i have had a few race's using GTR 2 but im new to the whole wheel thing! (i used to use my saitek cyborg gold prior to getting the G25)

Thanks again and one day i hope to join more online racing!

Winnie

you're welcome

Barcelona is hard on tires....so racing soft is a no no for long distance racing
also try a bit easy in the corners...let is coast a bit 7 you will see some difference

Ah man thats beautiful, dropped a second and a bit, and my tyres are pretty much even all round.

Thank you!
Seriously, i didnt think that coasting round a corner wouldhave been not only better for my tyres but quicker!

Thanks Chris!

Im going to continue working on my quail setup, and then pop back on in a few days to ask about the race setup, if thats ok?

:jumping:

Thanks!!

BMW M3 GTR - Indy 500 Oval

Hiya, me again!

We are still going strong in our M3 Cup and we are having a mid season laugh at the Indy 500 track.

Any pointers for setups please?

Many thanks

Indy 500 with BMW M3 sounds like the dullest race ever You dont need a setup for that track i think, lower the wings max should do it

Lol, yeah, there is a twist tho.
It's our Mid-Season Madness race, last man standing type thing, only i would like to put a good lap time down so im at the front! lol.

The default is near on useless round the oval, i have done this so far:

(all from memory, so there maybe some made up stuff...)
Front wing: 2
Rear wing: 1
Left side camber : 0.00
right side camber : -3.00
From ARB: 974
Rear ARB: 317

I cant think of anything else just yet...

Actually quite the opposite...

With correctly trimmed wings and top notch suspension settings the cars handle like a dream and are right on the limit. In addition lost downforce on the corners when running close adds a really interesting element. With cars running at around 180mph its hardly slow either.

As an intense racing experience i would have no hesitation in putting this up there with any oval racing ive done on any game.

Winston.... so this is where your sneaking off to to get setup help :p

Yep, not that i have been any faster on track, but i have been on the cheap and asking around for help.... i guess i could just pop into threshers and domino's pop past blockbuster and head round yours instead... lmao

I do have to add, Any car on this track is well worth it, flat out, no braking, making slip stream passes ect, its great fun,
