Default Lets go racing!

Hi,

Since I got invited last weekend I've been hard at work in the Rookie class to get my next level of license. Some of the races been good, some not so good...

Even though I've started to appreciate iRacings license and race sessions system, I've started to long for the possibility to race with familiar drivers in all of the races. I've added all names from "the other thread" to my friends list, but I haven't seen any one of you at iRacing yet.

How about that we all agree for a specific day and session time for every series we're in. That way we could soon have a RD iRacing series "the guerrilla way". I believe it would be far more easier to get a strong safety rating if you could race with familiar drivers on a regular basis.

We could for instance use Sundays 19:00 GMT as a "official Race Department iRacing day". No matter what level you're at and no matter what series you're in you'd be far more likely to bump in to a fellow RD racer if we all turn up at a specific day and time every week.

I know some of you used this method for a practice session earlier this week (which I missed) and as far as I know it all worked pretty well.

Does it sound like a good idea?

Kind regards,
Karl

Absolutely, me and Ricky tried last weekend but only we turned up.

So, where are we to meet?
Ideally TeamSpeak but a private iRacing chat room is always an option.

Then it's what series & session to gate crash so to speak.

I can do any series apart from the SK's, Silver Crowns & FM's

How about this: First person in opens a chat room www.racedepartment.com for "Members and friends of The Racedepartment"? Then we fill up as we enter the iRacing etc

Great to see that you're all up for it (but then, why shouldn't you )

I personally don't think teamspeak is the way to go, as all of us don't use it. I think a iRacing chat room is a better option. Hansis idea sounds good to me.

How many of you are eligible to participate in the Skip Barber? Currently I'm not, but my SF is at 3.50 and I plan to have it up to 4.0 in a short period of time ;)

Kind regards,
Karl

I'd love to join you in the Skippy, but my SF is only 3.58 Some people can't understand that the Solstice Rookie season isn't about winning but about learning and building a strong SF. If I got a $ for every time I've been rammed from behind I would have my finances sorted for the rest of the year

Kind regards,
Karl

Ah, finally and at last... my SF is now @ 4.40 and I'm ready to take on the Skippy

A suggestion regarding what session to use, in my brief time in the iRacing community I've noticed that the first day of a new race week ( or in other words Sundays) is usually a bit "calmer" than the rest of the week.

So, how about Sundays 17:00 GMT as a "official Race Department iRacing session"?

Kind regards,
Karl
