I use 400/23 too in all ISI games i play. I have attached my wheelsettings too in case it comes in handy for somebody. Game profiler in RACE 07 is fully default except for the forcefeedback that is medium instead of low and i have exported those settings to rFactor controller.ini and it feels exactly the same now. In other words: perfect

Good thread Jai

Default Computer novice seeking help.

Hi everyone, i'm new here. It looks like a really ggod forum with lots of input, so I was wondering if anybody could assist me please.
I have bought the g25 wheel and rushed out to buy a copy of gtr evo.
Let me explain that I am of the older generation and I have had a PC for about 6 months now, the entire concept is alien to me.
I would be most greatfull if somebody could expain to me how to install my g25 for gtr evo. I have it installed on my computer but am so deep over my head when i try to use the wheel and pedals for playing with. I'm afraid i'll need help to get through the entire process. I've been having a go for about 3 days now! Please can anyone help me, i'm really looking forward to playing, not sitting looking at a great wheel, a new compuer and game and feeling depressed and old.
Thanks in advance..Voloce. AKA Dave.

Just got my G25 today, after using the DFP for the last month, and the difference is immense. Its a completely different feel, much much smoother. I run with high ffb settings and on the DFP 75%+ made things a real struggle, on the G25 im running at 100% and all the feeling is there but the fight isnt, its almost comfortable, so comfortable i thought it may have been broke when i first put it on lol. The larger paddles, and the h shifter option, and who could forget the clutch, all add massively to the driving feel without a doubt.

I never thought it was going to be much different, but its in a whole new league.

hello Dave,

have you tried installing the driver for the logitech G25?
(also good to update to the latest driver. check here below
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/44...nloads%7C%7Cpd )
also in the logitech profiler it is bet you disable the combine gas & brake pedal

Hi Veloce, its a great place aint it. We are always here to help m8. Let me ask first, did you buy the full version of GTR Evo, which should be "Race 07 - the Game, including GTR Evo" or something like that?

Thankyou Christopher, The link sorted it out!!! I'll muddle through and work the rest out when time allows, but I am very thankfull for the help, if I get stuck again I'll send out another SOS.
Hello Abdul, I bought GTR Evolution with race 07, and just started to play tonight. Quite hard work isn't it?! Much different to anything I tried before. What % would you guys suggest I should start with the AI??
Thanks guys. Dave

Yep but its taking some getting used to As is having a clutch lol. Really loving having the choice between H shifter, Sequential stick, and big useable unmissable on tough corners Paddles, really opens things up, feel like a big kid with a huge bag of assorted candy

Losing a little time currently, but i do feel much more in control and smoother generally on track. With the dfp my driving was much more erratic and forced, where now it feels more flowing, possibly due to the bigger wheel and smoother ffb motors maybe, couldnt say exactly, it just all seems to work really well and feel right. I expect with a few more hours drivetime ill exceed my DFP based times without a doubt.

Thanks for the nice words guys.... To answer the questions...

Yep, the panel plugs in via USB as well... It's still seen as a Logitech gamepad even though I cut the PCB down to JUST the chip and soldered wires direct to the legs of the chip. I then ran the 4 USB wires through the surprisingly small steering column holes and out the back of the G25.

The Eject button doesn't work... After I cut the gamepad board up, I noticed that there were only 7 direct buttons connected and the others used binary combinations... I couldn't be bothered figuring it all out, so the Eject button is not even electrically connected :-)

The unlabeled button is Pause - but I figured I might find another function later on for online play so didn't label it.

It's actually been a huge help. In GTR2 the lights, limiter and labels buttons get used a lot (And the Bias F and R a bit) and in GTR Evo I need the wipers as well... Other buttons like pit etc are on the shifter.

Cheers - N

Hi hI:

G25 is better. I own it and i had went to my friend home to drive the MOmo, there are very different. The felling, the angle everything.
But Momo is good for Formula. Due this is 1/1 steering.

After a fair bit of testing (again), I've gone back to 300/15. But this time I've stuck with the linear 50% sensitivity, which is big for me, I've turned the sensitivity down since gtr1. I might go back as I drive more on tracks I know etc, but at the moment I'm practicing for a race at Dijon with the gt sports at FlatOutClub and I'm liking my new sensitivity setting.

The reason I went back to 300/15 is I never use more lock than that, not in this game anyway(evo/gtr etc), I remember playing LFS and that was completely different, set up 900 degrees and full lock on that game, used to love the skid pan, could go round and round there sideways forever.

Anyway

Dave, just to start with, I'd suggest getting a feel for the cars without worrying about the AI just yet.

If you dive into the AI races immediately without reaching a level of competence for yourself first, the AI % won't really matter as you won't know what you are currently capable of.

Use the practice / time attack modes just to get an idea of what's what, get used to the handling, try out steering setups, etc. Reach a level of comfort and competence.

Then, when you feel comfortable in the car of your choice, on the track of your choice and you're able to put 5 laps together within, say a second of your best, then try a race against the AI at whatever the default might be, or whatever you think is a good starting point for adjustments - 90% is a decent number. On a 100% AI 1:30.000 lap they'll do it in approx 1:39.000 at 90% pace.

You can adjust the AI up or down from that point, but that adjustment will only be worthwhile if you have a good idea of your own relative speed.

Just my two penn'orth. Good luck and see you on track soon.

I have this wheel, ITS AWSOME (yet also a bit violent when its calibrating).
However, i dont really find myself using the H shifter, only in live for speed.

When using it in GTR or GT Legends it doesnt seem to matter if i press the clutch or not, it still changes gear, so it seems like a waste.

Anyone tried it with Rfactor?

Yes G25 is a good and cheap Stearing Wheel.
But if your wheel is noisy, then try to uninstall the wheel and try again. Just a advice.

I was a little worried to at first tbh, switched from DFP yesterday, its certainly a much different sound than a freewheeling DFP, minds at rest for sure now though

Glad to hear it has metal gears, have been using a few tablewobbler setups recently and had thought mine was getting louder thought I might have ruined the teeth of the gears but if they are metal its probably my imagination

I had the Momo, now have the G25. Not through choice but from the fact that the cheap pedals on the Momo broke.

The G25 is better, but the Momo was never a bad wheel.

Rarely find myself using the H shifter, or more then 360degrees of rotation.

Yup.
I will try to arrange a desk for that to fix the H shifter steady in it.
Actually Momo is good too.
