Many of you would know that I had a very enjoyable holiday recently to New Zealand, the highlight of which was gold passes to the Warbirds Over Wanaka Aishow, which is the largest airshow in the southern hemisphere and held every two years.
This airshow was amazing and featured fully restored aircraft from WW1 and WW2. These aircraft were fully operational, and they taxied past the crowds before takeoff and after landing, were involved in mock combat, with some even performing acrobatic aerial displays.

Any aviation buffs or avid flight simmers might enjoy these.

There were many more aircraft participating than these, but I have started by showing some of my favourite wartime planes. Hope this method of displaying them works as I am still learning how to do this stuff. If the method works, I may share some more of my great New Zealand countryside shots.

Just to complete this subject, here are the other photo's from our trip. These are all from the South Island tour we did as part of the Warbirds Tour.

In my view, New Zealand has some of the most spectacular and amazing scenery in the world, it's a real hidden gem that many people from the Northern hemisphere never get to see, nice and close to Australia though
Included in these pics are the other two highlights of the tour, Milford Sound and our light aircraft flight over Mt Cook including a landing on a glacier.
We were unbelieveably lucky with the weather, a perfect sunshine / windless day on Mt Cook which is almost unheard of, and it didn't rain in Milford Sound (one of the wettest places on earth).

Warning, lots of Lakes and Mountain shots included, but keep an eye out for the obligatory sheep piccy .:wow:

I'm a flight simmer too, though haven't flown in a while after I found out my new PC didn't have a way to attach my old (but trusty) joystick. Still have to buy a new one, now I finally have a PC to run FS9 in fullest and I still can't enjoy it! LOL! Tried flying with the mouse but that's just horrible!
