Does RACE 07 freeze your pc sometimes?

Hello, just have seen this thread now. Asus 8800 GT 512 Mb here and yes, several freezes since I own this card (December 2007), 3 or 4 freezes. In my old PC I had this problem too, with an old nVidia card (series 6). It's frustrating when you're in a race. Thanks for the poll Marcel, I hope this will be useful ;)

After a while i will analyse this poll and send the results to Simbin, maybe it's better the remove the big NVIDIA logo if you start Race, it seems ATI has no problems sofar.

I've experienced the occasional freeze, it seams to be more frequent now than in the past. I haven't changed anything in my configuration except XP SP3 and change of nVidia drivers. I'm using a 8800GTX with the 175.16 drivers. Fortunately none of my freezes has been during a online race... crossing my fingers...

I've started to consider it to be a Steam issue as the freezes generally has happened during update periods. I think it might be that the Steam client hangs during the connection to the Valve servers.

If freezes are Steam dependent then other games runnign with Steam should have the same issues i guess. Anyone who noticed freezes with other Steam games, please report it in this threat too.

just wanted to update my post...since changing the memory timings to manual as suggested by atti not a single freeze for almost 2 weeks now....KNOCK ON WOOD!!!!

Maybe then, when I built my PC I set the memory timings in the BIOS and I don't have all these problems that people are reporting.

During racing i also did not had any nowdays, however yesterday wanting to watch the replays of events, every 10 minutes i had one.... strange. Also stay away from using Alt-Tab, it is not a friendly combo either.

Ive had freezing issues, but only at Magny Cours into last chicaine and over start line, I have an ATI card, HD 2600 XT, not nearly fast enough for this game but it works fine everywhere else(tho with somewhat reduced res, but it works!)

Aaah the first ATI freeze, maybe you can do a small test for me, set all graphics on low and try to freeze, after that settings on as high as possible to drive and do the same test.

I am like Simon on this one,i enjoy more or less problem free running of Race07,and really always have,right through all that fuss with patch issues etc. a few months back,im not saying i have never had any crashes at all,but the ones ive had have been few and very far bewtween,something i have ended with since a few weeks back is every time i exit Race07,i have a "minidump" message waiting at desktop for me,still no problems in game,just an error every single time i quit,ive always suspected something with the RD league pack,it was around the time i added that it began,but ive heard of no other reports of it.

in the beginning i got a lot of problems with race07 but since the last patch chrashes
seems to be fixed for me
ok now and then i have a crash with bluescreen and auto pc reboot
but this error comes from my soundcard and i cant do much on it since SB
dont support my old SB Live! 5.1 platinum anylonger
gtr2 runs fine too only game i have realy big big trubble with is rfactor it keeps crashing over and over ofc only if i be in car if i idle at the menue it can run the whole day with out any problems

LOL,,It really does serve me right ,after all that big bit of gloating at how great and stable everything is for me,,,,....i just had a total freeze-screen-soundloop crash in game,on the RD server actually in the 87 M3 in the heavy rain qual session,oh how i love irony!! .

I have Freeze ups in both GTR2 and Race '07 And they always happen like about 40-70 secs after I go on a track. I hit the Reset Button and warm boot my PC and I know that It'll be fine till I turn off my PC and Turn it back on again then I have to Repeat the Above?

i just registered to add myself into the list of people haveing this freezes with ATI cards.

i got a ATI HD3870, and have this freezes in GT legends, and Race07. i dont know GTR or GTR2 as i dont like the simulated car class.

actually i can drive most tracks in GTL without problem, but i can reproduce the crash to 100% on any nordschleife track in GTL. that turned me off pretty much, so i tried to switch to race07 in order to drive the schleife without crash. and when i drive the ADAC version of the schleife in race07 i get exactly this same black out crash to 100% after the bend out of the karussell.

thats insanely frustrating, i have it in GTL and race 07 with a ATI card. i had the latest omega drivers till yesterday. than i installed the latest ATI ones, strange enough i have horrible performance with the ATI drivers in race07 compared to the omega ones, however the crash is still there. also i tried window mode...

however i didnt tried to play it with everything turned way down. should i try it!? i could report back this evening or tomorrow about how it worked.

this freeze is giving me maximum frustration, i cant play the only two race games i like becouse their freezing my whole system. ****
i had a Gf7950GT befor i got the ATI card, it never froze like that in GTL, i didnt ever played race07 with the 7950 card.
