Default Time scaling a race

Is there a way to time-scale a race? I don't see an option for this. If memory serves me correctly it can be done in GTR2.

For example, I would like to compress a 24-hour race into 30 minutes to see what it would be like.

Thanks...

There is an option in the difficulty settings, you can set it right up to x60.
