200 or 270.. I think 260 is the normal GTR2 steering degree.

i have always 720 and most off the time the steering lock in game on 15

I Think this settings is most real most off the real race and rally cars use a steering rack of 720 that's why i have put it on 720. I want my game so realistic as possible

Default Is my G25 dying?

Not looking good. I'm afraid.
Over the past few weeks, I've had intermittent problems with the G25 where I go to leave the pits and there is very low power. Floor the throttle and it is slow and surging. Usually, going back to the pits and re-calibrating the controller fixes it. Just now I was racing on-line and half way through the race, I floor it down the straight and it just died, very slow and getting slower. I dropped a gear or two and it came good, but only for two laps and then same again. Then wouldn't drive at all. Exited to the pits and tested thr controller calibration and it seemed ok again.

Anyone got any idea what is happening. Is the G25 dying?
Could be my immediate racing fun might be about to stop. AAArggh!

Yes it is still under warranty. Unfortunately, at the moment they do not have any replacement stock, and I don't live in a large city where I can go to another shop.
I'll try to get another wheel from somewhere.

Is it just the pedals that stop working?
In that case you might be able to just purchase a new set of pedals that is connected directly to USB (and maybe do an upgrade to VPP-pedals...)

Yep! Just the throttle, everything else is working ok.
Do the VPP pedals work with the G25 wheel?

Yes from what I've heard they do. Over att SSR I think it was a post in Swedish about it. My son is planning to get the VPP-pedals instead of the ones that came with the G25.

Warren: Maybe it's just a malfunctioning contact on the pedals. try screwing the pedals open and look what's wrong...

My guess: A faulty connector to the throttle, maybe it is "bend" out of range.

Logitech has a good support, call them on 0031-10-2438897. Dutch support and ask for the Logitech number in your country.

Explain the problem and they will send you a new one. Tell them your local dealer is to slow solving the problem.

You can keep the old pedal unit then and maybe you will receive a brandnew complete G25.

@Mikael: That might void the warranty, but if no-one notices, there's no problem right

Well Warren, if you are looking for a possible upgrade on pedals, i assume both VPP and ECCI are a great choice, in lot of ways superior to anything else. They are simply providing the real thing. I use ECCI, but i guess VPP is just as good. However be aware, that these pedals cant be used if you cant fix both the pedals and your chair firmly (i mean screwing down). Without it do not even consider to buy, you will not be able to use them.

Here is the link to ECCI pedal, the site says it is compatible with Logitech wheels, however they do not mention the G25, and this version is without a clutch, but i assume they can have it supplied with the clutch as well. I think both questions can be answered at RSC ECCI forum part, A. Cers is regularly helping there with answering questions, a top shot bloke, as all ECCI customer service i can speak about only in superlatives.
The site says the PMB II brake upgrade is optional, but if you consider to buy such a device i highly recommend it, this is providing much greater feel to the brake pedal.
Also for my complete set on top of this a so called Race brake kit was available to buy, i donno if it is available for just the pedals (but why not), i have this as well, but after installed it i took it away, it created soo high forces which was not comfortable for me over long distance, however the feel was exceptionally good, just too hard for my taste.

I found a link also to the VPP pedals at the shop site whee i bought my racing rack, they have the 2 and 3 pedals versions, as i understood these pedals independently working from the wheel as a separate controller through USB interface.

About the price, hmmm, both of them pricey, yes, also the shipping to Australia is considerable on top of it, however i donno how much it is really (plus taxes i guess)

Thanks for all the help guys. I now have a phone number for Logitech in Australia, so I'll try them first (hopefully Monday) and see what they say.

This weekend, I'll just keep my fingers (and everything else) crossed that I can do some racing. My biggest suspicion is that with all the house extensions happening around me, some dust may have got into one of the pots. Dust is a real problem during this work, but I have tried very hard to seal off my games room as much as possible.

Had a telephone discussion with Logitech Australia, who have agreed to replace the G25. I returned it to the local retail store and they hope to have a new one for me on Wednesday. Good service so far.

The only surprising part was that Logitech insisted it had a 1 year warranty in Australia despite the box clearly stating 2 years. My G25 was 2 weeks short of 1 year so we don't have to have a fight over that issue, but it would have got messy from my point of view.

Hmmm thats a nice one: one instead of two years... Shall i call Logitech Benelux as a "test" to see how much guarantee we have over here?

Some what strange that the same product has different guarantees over the planet

Might be interesting to know what the rest of the world get. Even my local retailer (who is organising my replacement G25) told me that Logitech couldn't defend that policy when it clearly states 2 years on the box.

Hey Warren, it seems previously i was missing some info on the ECCI pedals, obviously 2 and 3 pedal versions are available for the G25, both via the G25 wheel for connection and as standalone USB ocnnection versions as well:
http://ecci6000.com/products.asp?id=12

p.s.: maybe now you will not need it, but anyhow good info that it is available. basically as a standalone option this can be used with any wheel.

Cheers: Atti

Good news, I picked up my replacement G25 today.

Interesting though, Logitech have changed the outer box and it now states a one year limited warranty compared to the previous statement of two years manufacturers warranty. Does this tell us something about the potential life of these rather expensive wheels???
