Hi there Community,
My Momo Racing Pedals have finally given it up..^^ I had the 80% bug, and did not find any further software solutions, so I opened the pedals and tried to fix them. Well, the problem is, that I can´t get them to work again ![]() The Logitech Profiler no longer detects any movements from either gas or brake pedals. The two Plugs are attached properly and the pedals seem to be placed like they should, but no response... Can anyone tell me, how I can replace them or where to get pc pedals for around 30-60€ ? Edit: Doesn´t matter anymore, found a solution. Last edited by Tobias Röhner; 14th August 2008 at 15:56. |

... know that one too - my son is 18 months old, strong as an ox and loves trying to see if he can rip the wheel off my desk by yanking it full force in all directions, or attempting pull ups on it ... mine's an old Logi momo force (red) but still going strong even after such attempts at sabotage ... probably best to return it if not done so already

Been getting some strange handling and screen twitches esp. when turning right lately and today have only just realised what is causing it ...
When I turn my (red) Logi Momo Force to the right, from somewhere around 95º of its 120º rotation I get some mad "spiking" or twitching, and it won't register full lock ... on turning it lock to lock, it no longer registers smooth readings either Does this mean my trusty old "steed" is nearing its end , or is there something I can do to sort this out ... new pots, cleaning, etc??? (I once saw a link to renovating/cleaning this wheel but can't seem to find it any more - anyone got such a link?)

Would be interested in hearing from anyone who has upgraded from a Logi Momo Force (red) to something else ... and my question is quite simple,
"What wheel did you get, and how happy with it are you?" My wheel has started playing up the last few days, spiking and stuff especially when steering right ... and unless I can fix it (suggestions very welcome), I might just be in the market for a new wheel ... and since G25's are going for roughly €200, I am thinking I might just be able to squeeze my budget to one of those (with a lot of cups of tea and some serious grovelling to my wife ... kids will have to go hungry this month too )Appreciate your experiences ... ![]() EDIT: Does anyone know if a squash ball fits in place of a spring on the brake pedal of a G25 like it does on the momo ... and/or does it need something like this or does the G25 brake pedal actually have some feel or loading to it rather than a straight spring?

Just bought my new G25. It feels so heavy when I turn in. It's like driving without power-steering. I also find the pedals too close together and the brake pedal unconfortable.
Or maybe I'm still used to my old 30€ rubbish Thrustmaster. Last edited by Stirb Iuliu; 18th August 2008 at 07:38. |

Tobias, I had the 80% bug as well with my old rubbish. After I've opened the pedals case, they were not working at all.
I had to turn some little plastic screws. But, in order to get those plastic screws you need the lign the pedals almost orizontally backwards, as they are connected with a little plastic notch on the screws. Now, off course, that was my 30 euros Thrustmaster crap. I don't know the Logitech Momo's details. My unimportant advice (if your problem is not solved) is either ask some specialist to get it fixed either get some new hardware. Last edited by Stirb Iuliu; 18th August 2008 at 09:33. |

i used the black momo for years and the G25 is a much better wheel.

There is a mod also for the G25 brake, cant recall the producer, where they make a custom sized rubber coloumn into the tube/spring of the brake pedal to make it more stronger and progressive feel. However i think it is not needed, i find it pretty good strong force without any tuning, i would not even want heavier force for it.

You don´t happen to know where I can find info on how the repair is done - seem to be drawing blanks on my searches, but am certain I once say a really detailed explanation of this, or at least cleaning the pots online somewhere

Decided to bite the bullet this morning and stuck the kids in front of the telly whilst I took the whole wheel apart and tried servicing it ... in for a penny in for a pound, there were wires and screwdrivers and allen keys galore
![]() First thing I found that the "stopper" for the rotation of the wheel was completely broken, and was rattling around loose inside the wheel (the noise of this was what spurred me taking it to bits this morning). Anyhow, it was completely shot at, tied epoxying back together but it would not stand the impact it is going to take, so have fashioned a replacement one from the nearest thing I have to hand that should take the knocks ... one of those newfangled plastic wine corks as its a similar diameter and should not break Other thing I found was that the FF motor had worked its way quite loose ... tightened and thread sealed that back into place, and am in the midst of reassembling things and was hoping to clean and re-install the original pot to see if things have improved. On cleaning pots though, I have no clue - am a techie not a sparkie ![]() Just read several conflicting reports about cleaning pots with WD40 (mainly on old radios though) - as I have no other electrical cleaning fluid kicking around and no idea where I can get any round here, this is the only thing I can think of that I have kicking around that might work!?! ... good or bad idea - help or hinder ... any other household kinda products that might do the trick?? BTW ... sods law - now that I have already done it, I have also just found a link on RSC on how to take your wheel apart ... (Thanks for your link Neil, but the hungarian pages are gone, and didn´t find anything from the RSC link from there ... My MOMO is broken ??? - RaceSimCentral Forums

Good news for me and my pocket, with just a few basic tools, a bit of time, some thread lock and a "plastic" wine cork, I seem to have saved the expense of a new wheel ... all seems to be fixed and better than I ever remember it being (full testing and info to follow, hopefully this evening) ...

Brake cleaner works good for cleaning pots. You can find it at most hardware stores or most anywhere with an automotive section. Its an aerosol made to clean brake parts on a car so will basically get any residue off of about anything, and doesn't leave any residue itself which is nice.

...The brake lights were clipping on and off as the brake was never cut off completely, than one of the paddle shifter left me alone in this cruel world. After I've opened the pedal case, I had to tie the brake with elastic, then the gas pedal started to shed some skin, geez, it's like it was falling apart lap after lap. Here's the beauty. It's like can you believe I had some tough RD Championship races with elastic tied brake and half a pedal .Now compare this with the new G25. Geez. K guys,

... but a bit of manual "twiddling" with a bit of pressure on the pot whilst it was out seems to have done the trick -- will be checking it out with a bit of proper track time soon - otherwise it'll be down to the garage to dig out the brake cleaner ... Cheers

) - no more spiking and I get full lock too.The wheel has absolutely no play in it any more, and seems much more responsive - feels like new again ![]() The home made resin wine-cork "bumpstop" I made seems much better than the original hard resin plastic thing - instead of a harsh thwhack when the wheel gets to full lock, there is just a good solid sounding buffered bump. The G25 can wait ... my Momo lives on - woohoo! ![]() ![]()

Darren there is a option in the game -race07 steering options where you set your FF strengh you can allsow revers forces or somthing like that (i dont remember as i have polish ver. of the game) You should ticked that for logitech wheels. If its unticked wheel behaves like you said.
Dont know maybe this isnt the problem here, but try that if you didnt allready. Last edited by Jacek Kozlowski; 31st August 2008 at 00:56. |
